We've got doom on the radar. As we all begin to see the effects of climate change, our choices and actions matter more now than they ever have. While great strides have been made to secure the planet's future, there's still a lot of work to be done.
This is where Prohto enters the fight.
There's a growing trend of consumers wanting more responsibly made goods, and more care from companies regarding their sustainability efforts. As companies and government agencies pivot and adjust to clean up their supply chains, develop innovative technologies, and make progress on their sustainability targets, there is still one area that has yet to be addressed, the sustainable shopping experience.
Traditional shopping requires very little effort. Most people have their favorite brands they shop from directly, or they shop with a retailer that sells several brands. There isn't much thinking required until it's time to pick what to buy. Now if you were to shop for something with a focus on sustainability, the experience is totally different. Research is required to understand which retailers have the goods you want, and once the goods are in front of you, a barrage of words like organic, up-cycled, circular, and regenerative are thrown your way, and now more research is needed. It's painful.
Consider this the genesis story of Prohto. Rather than every consumer doing the research to understand what's what, Prohto is working to become one of the leading experts on all things sustainable, especially with clothing. Using our expertise and skills, we're going to comb through and vet only the best products from trusted brands, and present them to you in one place. No more research needed, no more pain.
We're in the early stages of the process, so we want to provide a roadmap outlining how Prohto plans to grow and fulfill our mission. This is gonna happen in 4 phases, let's talk about them.
Phase 1 | Current Phase | The Blog and Affiliate Marketing
In our current phase, we're starting small but with a big mission. Our blog is intended to educate and inspire you towards making sustainable choices. Covering topics such as eco-friendly materials, leading sustainability brands, certifications and the like, we're focusing on breaking down the industry jargon to make sustainability accessible for everyone. We'll also be opening the Marketplace during this phase, where you'll be able to shop the products that we believe in, while also supporting our growth.
In the beginning, this shopping experience is going to feature affiliate marketing. If we showcase a product or service on our website, and you click the link that we provide to make a purchase, we'll earn a little bit of money as a commission. We promise to only showcase products that we truly believe in, and the money we earn will be used to grow Prohto into the later stages, where we'll work better for you.
This phase is all about building trust with you, our community, and gaining insights into your preferences. We're committed to promoting products and brands that align with our sustainability values. But we want to go further. That's why we're excited to share what's next.
Phase 2 | Owning the Merchandise
In phase 2 we'll have published a large amount of original material on our website. We hope to have gained the trust of a larger audience, and begin to use the income we earn from the affiliate marketing in phase 1.
We'll begin curating and owning sustainable merchandise directly, so our community will be able to shop with us and not be directed to an external site to make a purchase. By no longer solely relying on affiliate marketing, the hard-earned money our community spends will do more to support Prohto, and in turn support the community. As usual, we will only sell products that focus on quality, ethical sourcing, and environmental responsibility. By owning the merchandise, we can offer you greater control over your shopping experience and ensure that you're getting only the best sustainable goods on the market.
Phase 3 | The Brick and The Mortar
We understand the importance of being able to touch and feel clothes before you buy it. That's why in phase 3, we plan on opening our first brick and mortar store. A physical space will allow our community to enjoy first-hand, the next-generation shopping experience. Featuring all the styles you love, with materials and brands that you can feel good about, examine products up close or chat with happy and knowledgable staff, we want to create a sensory shopping experience that's second to none.
Our store will be more than just a place to shop, but will serve as a hub for sustainability enthusiasts and professionals to connect, learn, and share their experiences. Prohto will also begin partnering with brands to help create next-generation fabrics and clothing articles. These innovations will pioneer textiles that support our mission of preserving the earth, and create a blueprint for large-scale clothing production that doesn't destroy the environment.
Phase 4 | Global Storefronts
Our ultimate vision is to expand our presence globally, and bring sustainable shopping to communities worldwide. Climate change is not an isolated problem, it's something that will affect everyone. This makes it important for Prohto to grow and support people all over the world, and ensure that no matter where someone lives, they have access to responsibly made goods.
Prohto will begin expanding into other countries that also have a high demand for sustainable goods. By this point, the goods we offer will no longer be just clothing, but will include other categories such as home goods, stationary, cleaning supplies, furniture, electronics and many others.
We're Glad You're Here
We're committed to making a positive impact on the planet, and each phase of our journey takes us one step closer to that goal. As we progress through these phases, our dedication to transparency, sustainability, and your satisfaction will almost remain a priority.
